Avila is one of Spain's picturesque castle cities. It's like game of thrones meets main street, which I guess means Ron Howard sits on the iron throne. Only there is no throne in Avila because unlike some of the other famous castle cities here, these walls don't house a castle. There is however a stunning cathedral built into the eastern wall.
